HACANAC INDIAN PROVINCE. Hacanac Indian Province was reported to Luis de Moscoso Alvarado in 1542 as lying, apparently, on the northwest border of Texas. This was the territory of the Red River Caddos. On July 20, 1542, the Hacanacs joined with men from Amaye and Naguatex and attacked Moscoso.
