HALL, WILLIAM J. (?-?). William J. Hall, early settler and one of Stephen F. Austin's^qv Old Three Hundred^qv colonists, moved to Texas in 1823. On July 10, 1824, he received title to a league now in Fort Bend County. He settled on Oyster Creek, and the census of 1826 listed him as a farmer and stock raiser aged between twenty-five and forty. That year he had a wife, Susanna, a young son, and one servant. In 1828 he served as a captain of the colonial militia.
