HUDSON, TEXAS. Hudson is on State Highway 94 just west of Lufkin in north central Angelina County. The largely residential community grew up as a suburb of Lufkin in the 1960s and was incorporated in the latter part of the decade. The population of Hudson was 695 in 1980. After that time the community grew rapidly, and in 1990 it reported 2,374 residents. The population grew to 3,792 in 2000.
