HARMASTON, TEXAS. Harmaston was founded on the David Harris league on a site now at the northwestern edge of Lake Houston in northeastern Harris County. The community developed around the Beaumont, Sour Lake and Western Railway, which shipped timber. Lumbermen of firms including the Texas Longleaf Company lived at a boardinghouse near the railroad. Children attended school at Humble. By the 1980s only an abandoned railroad station remained.
