HOME PLACE, TEXAS. Home Place, possibly located on lower Escondido Creek in Karnes County, had a post office from November 1858 to January 1860 with Christopher M. Barclay as postmaster. It may have been a predecessor to Daileyville (1870-87). BIBLIOGRAPHY: Robert H. Thonhoff, History of Karnes County (M.A. thesis, Southwest Texas State College, 1963).
