HACKBERRY CREEK (Sterling
County). Hackberry Creek rises twelve miles northwest of Sterling
City in northern Sterling County (at 32°00' N, 101°06'
W) and runs north for twelve miles to its mouth on Mustang Creek,
near Farm Road 2183 in southern Mitchell County (at 32°12'
N, 101°02' W). The stream traverses rolling to flat terrain
surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support grasses and some
water-tolerant hardwoods.
