HACKLEY CREEK. Hackley Creek rises 5½ miles southwest of Gainesville in south central Cooke County (at 33°32' N, 97°11' W) and runs southeast for 4½ miles to its mouth on Scott Creek, four miles west of Burns City (at 33°31' N, 97°07' W). It traverses variable terrain surfaced by shallow, stony clay loams that support oak, juniper, chaparral, cacti, and grasses.
