HACKBERRY CREEK (Erath County). Hackberry Creek rises two miles northwest of Lingleville in western Erath County (at 32°17' N, 98°24' W) and runs southwest for eight miles to its mouth on Armstrong Creek, sixteen miles west of Stephenville (at 32°10' N, 98°27' W). It traverses an area of steep slopes and benches, surfaced by shallow clay loams that support juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses.
