INDIAN CREEK (Collingsworth County). Indian Creek rises near Lutie in central Collingsworth County (at 35°00' N, 100°13' W) and runs south for four miles to its mouth on the Salt Fork of the Red River (at 34°58' N, 100°13' W). The terrain is characterized by rolling hills with some steep slopes and shallow, locally stony soils ranging from clayey to sandy loams. Vegetation consists primarily of cacti, juniper, and some sparse grasses. The creek was once part of the properties of the Rocking Chair^qv and Mill Iron (see CONTINENTAL LAND AND CATTLE COMPANY) ranches.
