JORDAN CREEK (Grayson County). Jordan Creek rises a mile south of Whitesboro in extreme west central Grayson County (at 33°37' N, 96°53' W) and runs south for thirteen miles to its mouth on Lake Ray Roberts, two miles north of Tioga (at 33°31' N, 96°56' W). It traverses low-rolling to flat terrain, surfaced by sandy and clay loams that support mixed hardwood and pine trees. The region has served as range and crop land. Jordan Creek flowed into Range Creek to form Isle du Bois Creek before 1987, when the lake was impounded.
