JACKS BRANCH
(Hill County). Jacks Branch rises four miles northwest of Hillsboro
in central Hill County (at 32°04' N, 97°12' W) and runs
south ten miles to its mouth on Aquilla Lake, four miles southwest
of Hillsboro (at 31°57' N, 97°10' W). It traverses low-rolling
to flat terrain surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support
oak and juniper trees, scrub brush, and cacti. The area has served
as range and crop land.
