JACKSON BAYOU. Jackson Bayou rises within the city limits of Crosby in northeastern Harris County (at 29°54' N, 95°03' W) and runs southwest for 3½ miles to its mouth on the San Jacinto River (at 29°52' N, 95°05' W). The bayou cuts through coastal prairie interspersed with wooded areas of pine and oak. The soil in the area is a deep, sandy loam.
