LATHAM PRAIRIE, TEXAS. Latham Prairie was near Antelope Mound in southern Coryell County. The area was settled as early as the 1860s. By the mid-1920s, the Latham Prairie school had been consolidated with that of the Antelope community. Residents in the area were forced to move when the Fort Hood military reservation was established in the early 1940s.
