LEONA SCHRODER, TEXAS. Leona Schroder is on Farm Road 1833 thirty miles west of Corpus Christi in northwestern Nueces County. Around 1900 two schools, Leona and Schroder, began operating in the area. The community was named for them. In the late 1940s the two schools were consolidated with Banquete Independent School district. In 1990 and again in 2000 the population of Leona Schroder was reported as forty.
