LINDSEY CREEK (Grayson County). Lindsey Creek, also known as Lindsey Spring Branch, rises in extreme east central Grayson County (at 33°29' N, 96°24' W) three miles northeast of Pilot Grove, and runs northeast, then east, for four miles to its mouth (at 33°30' N, 96°21' W) on Bois d'Arc Creek, in southwestern Fannin County 6½ miles southeast of Savoy. The stream, which is intermittent in its upper and middle reaches, traverses flat to rolling prairie, surfaced by deep to shallow expansive clays, clay loams, and dark, commonly calcareous clays that support oak, juniper, mesquite, and various grasses. The region has served as range and crop land.
