LIPAN CREEK (Bell County). Lipan Creek rises in eastern Bell County (at 30°56' N, 97°12' W) two miles east of Rogers and runs southeast for eleven miles to its mouth on Big Elm Creek, three miles northeast of Buckholts (at 30°53' N, 97°05' W). The generally flat to rolling terrain has local shallow depressions and is surfaced by clay and sandy loams that support hardwoods, scrub brush, and grasses. The creek was once the site of an Indian campground.
