MISSION TEJAS STATE HISTORICAL PARK. Mission Tejas State Historical Park is on State Highway 21 in Davy Crockett National Forestqv twenty-one miles northeast of Crockett in Houston County. The 118-acre park was acquired from the Texas Forest Serviceqv in 1957 by legislative enactment. In the park is a replica of San Francisco de los Tejas Mission, believed to have been established at the site in 1690. The area is heavily forested with pines and several species of oak. Facilities include camping and picnicking areas, a small fishing lake, nature and hiking trails, and group shelters.
