MATTSON, TEXAS. Mattson is on Farm Road 266 and Miller's Creek in northern Haskell County. The community is in an agricultural area devoted to diversified farming and stock raising. The 1936 county highway map showed one business and scattered dwellings at the townsite, but a 1983 map showed only a church there. In 1990 Mattson was on a mail route from Haskell.
