MACHO CREEK (Atascosa County). Macho Creek rises (at 28°48' N, 98°39' W) in west central Atascosa County six miles southwest of Charlotte and runs south for nine miles to its mouth (at 28°41' N, 98°39' W) on Live Oak Creek, just east of Ranch Road 1401 and four miles from the McMullen county line. The local terrain is flat to rolling with steep margins, surfaced by shallow to deep sandy loams that support pecans, willows, and grasses. Land in use is either range or irrigated cropland. The creek had been named by 1862.
