MACHAE CREEK. Machae Creek rises four miles northeast of Robert Lee in central Coke County (at 31°57' N, 100°25' W) and runs south for seven miles to its mouth on the Colorado River, six miles southeast of Robert Lee (at 31°51' N, 100°25' W). In its upper reaches the stream traverses rangeland of gently sloping dissected red beds of mud and sand, with some moderately steep slopes, high relief, and a few minor faults. Near its mouth the creek enters terrain varying from steep to rolling to flat, with shallow to deep sandy clay loams that support various grasses and oak, juniper, and elm trees.
