NAPUAP INDIANS. The Napuap (Nacuap, Napuat) Indians were one of five Coahuiltecan groups reported to be living in the vicinity of present Corpus Christi during the middle eighteenth century. The name appears only in documents pertaining to expeditions sent out by José de Escandónqv from what is now Tamaulipas. In later times the Napuap Indians were probably known by some other name.
