OGDEN, TEXAS (Comal County). Ogden, a Comal County industrial site 9½ miles southeast of New Braunfels, was established on the Missouri Pacific Railroad in 1931 by the Servtex Materials Company, which operated a rock-crushing plant. The Missouri, Kansas, and Texas Railroad also has a spur track to the plant, which quarries limestone along the Balcones Escarpment. A low-rent housing project was maintained for plant workers. The company's operations continued at least through the mid-1970s.
