OAK RIDGE, TEXAS (Nacogdoches County). Oak Ridge is at the junction of State Highway 21 and Farm Road 226, seven miles east of Nacogdoches in eastern Nacogdoches County. It was apparently established after the Civil War.qv A school was in operation by 1904, when the enrollment was forty-three. During the 1930s Oak Ridge had a school, a church, a general store, and a number of houses. After World War IIqv many of the residents moved away, but as late as the mid-1960s the site still had a school, a sawmill, and a store. During the early 1990s Oak Ridge was a dispersed rural community.
