OAK HILLS. The Oak Hills, composed of more than twenty peaks, are in north central Presidio County (at 30°13' N, 104°20' W) between Ryan Flat on the north and Farm Road 2810 on the south. With elevations ranging from 5,231 to 5,456 feet above sea level, the hills rise from less than 150 to more than 250 feet over Long Draw on their southern edge. The Oak Hills were formed of conglomerate. The area is characterized by steep slopes; local vegetation includes sparse grasses, junipers, and the scattered oaks for which the hills were named.
