PACHAQUE INDIANS. In 1675 the Pachaque (Pachaga, Pachajuen, Pachaquen, Pachoque, Parchaque, and other variants) Indians ranged northeastern Coahuila, especially that part between the Rio Sabinas and the Rio Grande, and in 1690-91 they were also recorded as living in the same area. In the first half of the eighteenth century some of the Pachaques found their way to two missions of San Antonio-Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción de Acuña and San Antonio de Valero. Although the names are similar, the Pachaque Indians do not seem to have been the same as the Paachiquis, who lived south of the Edwards Plateau^qv in Texas and were associated with a different set of Coahuiltecan bands.
