PRUITT, TEXAS (Cass County). Pruitt is on Farm Road 2683 eight miles south of Linden in southern Cass County. It was named for Robert A. Pruitt, an early settler. Cemeteries in the area indicate that settlement had begun by the 1860s. In 1983 Pruitt had a small business and a few widely scattered houses. The population was twenty-five in 2000.
