PLEASANT GROVE, TEXAS (Washington County). Pleasant Grove is a black agricultural community on Farm Road 332 and Sandy Creek, 4½ miles from Brenham in southern Washington County. It achieved its greatest population in the 1920s. Before consolidation with the Brenham schools, Pleasant Grove had its own school. The settlement lost population in the 1950s and 1960s as younger residents moved to Brenham. Its Methodist church was still active in the late 1980s.
