PAISANO CREEK
(Presidio County). Paisano Creek, also known as Lencito Draw,
rises in Sunny Glen in northeastern Presidio County (at 30°17'
N, 103°47' W) and runs northeast for thirty-five miles, crossing
northwestern Brewster County into southwestern Pecos County before
draining into Coyanosa Draw (at 30°47' N, 103°17' W)
seven miles west of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe line. Its
course crosses alluvial and fan deposits of sands and gravel,
runs over conglomerates, and ends in limestone and clay. The land
surface consists of generally light reddish-brown to brown sands;
clay loams; and rough stony ground. The vegetation consists primarily
of sparse grasses, cacti, and desert shrubs.
