Pony Creek rises south of Lone Mountain at U.S. Highway 67 in southeastern Erath County (at 32°09' N, 98°00' W) and runs northeast fifteen miles to its mouth on the Paluxy River, in Paluxy in southwestern Hood County (at 32°16' N, 97°54' W).
