PAINT GAP HILLS.
The Paint Gap Hills (centered at 29°24' N, 103°17' W)
are in Big Bend National Parkqv seven miles northwest of Panther Junction in south central Brewster
County. The highest elevation in the hills is 4,263 feet above
sea level, and rises some 1,110 feet above Tornillo Creek, a mile
north. The soils in the hills are shallow and stony and support
scrub brush and grasses.
