QUINTA CREEK.
Quinta Creek rises three miles northwest of Orange Grove in northeastern
Jim Wells County (at 27°59' N, 97°58' W) and runs southeast
for sixteen miles to its mouth on Agua Dulce Creek, six miles
northwest of Banquete in northwestern Nueces County (at 27°51'
N, 97°52' W). The stream traverses flat to rolling prairie,
which is locally dissected in its lower reaches. The dark, commonly
calcareous clays along the upper reaches of the stream and the
sandy and clay loams in its lower reaches support mesquite, grasses,
cacti, and scrub brush.
