REESE VILLAGE, TEXAS. Reese Village is on Farm Road 2255 at the eastern edge of Reese Air Force Base, ten miles west of Lubbock in western Lubbock County. It was developed as off-base housing for military personnel in the 1950s. By 1961 the population was 1,433. It rose to 2,545 in 1972 and has been estimated at 2,600 from 1974 to 1992. The community is government-owned and offers low-cost housing.
