ROLLA, TEXAS. Rolla is southwest of Wellington in southern Collingsworth County. Its school district was organized in 1894, and a post office, established in June of that year, remained in operation until 1910, when mail was routed through Wellington. Rolla had a community church and a brick schoolhouse. In 1990 it shared the community hall of Swearingen, nine miles to the west.
