RATCLIFF, TEXAS (San Augustine County). Ratcliff is on State Highway 21 ten miles west of San Augustine in northwestern San Augustine County. In 1904 Ratcliff had a school for thirty-six white pupils and one teacher and another for forty-three black pupils and one teacher. In 1940 the community had a school and scattered dwellings. By the 1980s Ratcliff consisted of a number of dwellings and a church.
