ROLLOVER, TEXAS. Rollover, a beachfront community on what is now State Highway 87 on Bolivar Peninsula next to Rollover Pass in eastern Galveston County, had a post office from 1897 until 1907, after which mail was delivered from Caplen. In 1907 the community's school had eighteen students and one teacher. The Rollover community faded after the establishment of Gilchrist around 1915.
