ROSITA, TEXAS (Cameron County). Rosita was three miles north of Los Fresnos in central Cameron County. It developed after 1927, when the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway built a line through the area. In 1948 the community consisted of dispersed dwellings and farm units. By 1955 Rosita was no longer shown on maps, and in 1983 all that remained in the area was a few scattered dwellings and the railway line.
