RABBIT CREEK (Smith County). Rabbit Creek rises three miles southeast of Douglas in Smith County (at 32°20' N, 95°03' W) and runs northeast for twenty miles, through the northwestern corner of Rusk County and Gregg County, to its mouth on the Sabine River, near Bullhide Slough five miles southwest of Longview (at 32°26' N, 94°48' W). It crosses terrain characterized by flat to rolling prairie and clayey and muddy soils. The vegetation consists primarily of mesquite and grasses.
