ROCKY CREEK (Bandera County). Rocky Creek rises five miles southeast of Bandera in eastern Bandera County (at 29°40' N, 99°01' W) and runs southeast for three miles to its mouth on Medina Lake, eight miles southeast of Bandera (at 29°37' N, 99°00' W). Rocky Creek flows through an area of the Edwards Plateau characterized by steep slopes and limestone benches that give a stairstep appearance to the landscape. Shallow clay loam soils support open stands of live oak and Ashe juniper and mixed grasses.
