RABBIT CREEK (San Saba County). Rabbit Creek, formerly known as Camp Creek, rises eight miles northeast of San Saba in eastern San Saba County (at 31°16' N, 98°41' W) and runs southeast for five miles to its mouth on the San Saba River (at 31°14' N, 98°39' W). The intermittent stream has one dam that forms a lake. The surrounding flat to gently rolling uplands are surfaced by shallow clayey and deep loamy soils that support Ashe juniper, live oak, mesquite, and grasses.
