RABBIT CREEK (Young County). Rabbit Creek rises three miles east of Padgett in northwest Young County (at 33°19' N, 98°52' W) and flows eight miles south, along the western border of the Padgett oilfield, to its mouth on the Brazos River, eight miles west of Newcastle (at 33°13' N, 98°52' W). Much of the creek's drainage area is ranchland. The terrain is generally flat with local shallow depressions. The soil is made up of clay and sandy loams, and the vegetation consists mainly of water-tolerant hardwoods and grasses. The Reynolds Cemetery is located near the creek three miles south of Padgett.
