RAINEY CREEK (Harrison County). Rainey (Raney) Creek, also known as Ray Creek, rises in northwestern Harrison County just northwest of Marshall (at 32°34' N, 94°24' W). The stream, intermittent in its upper reaches, runs northwest for nine miles through northwestern Harrison County to its mouth (at 32°40' N, 94°27' W) on Little Cypress Bayou nine miles northwest of Marshall near the Marion county line. The gently undulating to hilly terrain is surfaced by loam and clay which support heavily wooded patches of pine and hardwood trees. The land is used predominantly for agriculture.
