SAM RAYBURN HOUSE. The Sam Rayburn House, home of Samuel Taliaferro Rayburn,qv is on U.S. Highway 82 a mile west of Bonham in Fannin County. The two-story frame vernacular residence was built in 1916 and remodeled in 1933 in the Colonial Revival style. The house was made a recorded Texas historic landmark in 1965 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. In 1976 it was made a national historic landmark. Since 1975 the house has been preserved by the Texas Historical Commissionqv as a museum.
