SIMS VALLEY, TEXAS. Sims Valley, a switch on the Concho, San Saba and Llano Valley Railroad in far northwestern Concho County, was near the pens on the Sims Ranch. Dunlop E. Sims, who developed the ranch, was president of the railroad, which in 1909-10 built from Miles Station (Runnels County), to Paint Rock, the Concho county seat. The line was discontinued after a flood in late 1936 washed away the railroad bridge over the Concho River.
