SADDLERS CREEK. Saddlers Creek rises fifteen miles northeast of Howardwick in northern Donley County near the Donley-Gray county line (at 35°11' N, 100°49' W) and flows south for ten miles to its mouth on the Salt Fork of the Red River, six miles northeast of Clarendon (at 34°60' N, 100°45' W). Once part of the old Quarter Circle Heartqv range, this stream later was the location of the Griffin ranch's eastern sector. It flows through terrain characterized by rolling to steep slopes. Native vegetation consists primarily of mesquite brush and grasses in shallow clay and sandy loams that are locally stony.
