SANDY CREEK (Cooke County). Sandy Creek rises nine miles northeast of Gainesville in northeastern Cooke County (at 33°44' N, 97°00' W) and runs east for thirteen miles to its mouth on Lake Texoma three miles north of Sadler in Grayson County (at 33°46' N, 96°48' W). Variable terrain is surfaced by shallow, stony clay and sandy loam which supports juniper, oak, and grasses.
