TEXANA. Texana, a quarterly publication devoted to Texas history, was first published in January 1963. It was edited by Robert E. Davis and published by the Texian Press of Waco. An editorial board, comprised of historians throughout the state, approved articles accepted for publication. Texana had a wide circulation in college and high school libraries and appealed to individuals interested in Texas history. The format was that of a historical journal; a requirement for published articles is that they be fully documented. The last issue in each volume contains an index to the volume. In 1972 Dayton Kelley was editor and Robert E. Davis was publisher. The publication was discontinued after the Fall 1974 issue.
