TIMBER CREEK (Cooke County). Timber Creek, also known as Cross Timber Creek, rises 1½ miles southwest of Callisburg in eastern Cooke County (at 33°41' N, 97°02' W) and runs southeast for two miles into Lake Dealey (at 33°40' N, 97°01' W). The creek then continues in a southeasterly course for 14½ miles, through the Kimball, Woodbine, and Timber Creek oilfields, to its mouth on Jordan Creek, southwest of Collinsville in Grayson County (at 33°32' N, 96°55' W). Timber Creek crosses variable terrain surfaced by shallow, stony clay loams that support oak, juniper, and various grasses.
