TANKERSLY CREEK.
Tankersly Creek rises 4½ miles northeast of Winfield in western
Titus County (at 33°13' N, 95°03' W). Intermittent in
its upper reaches, the stream runs southeast for three miles into
Tankersly Lake, a large reservoir which has been made by a dam
on the creek just northwest of Mount Pleasant. Leaving the lake,
the creek continues southeast for 5½ miles to its mouth on
Big Cypress Creek, six miles south of Mount Pleasant (at 33°05'
N, 94°59' W). The gently undulating to rolling area is surfaced
by loam that once supported forests of pines and various hardwoods.
