UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS SYSTEM CANCER CENTER. The University of Texas System Cancer Center was established in October 1972 to coordinate university-wide programs in cancer studies. In the 1990s the center included the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and the University of Texas Environmental Science Park in Smithville. The president of the UT System Cancer in 1994 was Charles A. LeMaistre.
