WALKER, ALEXANDER STUART, JR. (1865-1933). Alexander Stuart Walker, Jr., lawyer, son of Anna Jane (Wilbarger) and Alexander Stuart Walker,^qv was born at Georgetown, Texas, on November 27, 1865. He attended Southwestern University, Washington and Lee University, and the University of Texas, where he received his LL.D. degree in 1886. He practiced law in Austin in partnership with Thomas W. Gregory and Alexander W. Terrell.^qv On November 27, 1888, he married Katherine Pendleton Waggener of Austin. They had two children. Walker was county attorney of Travis County from 1891 to 1896 and county judge from 1896 to 1900, when he moved to Williamson County to manage his farm and ranch. From 1913 to 1920 he was Texas collector of internal revenue under appointment by Woodrow Wilson. Walker practiced law in Dallas from 1920 to 1924, then returned to Austin. He was a Presbyterian, a Mason, and a Democrat. He died in Williamson County near Leander on October 18, 1933.
